Series: Introduction to Yoga

This six-week series is great for people who are new to yoga. Students learn the basic shape and alignment of poses and modifications to maximize personal benefit. We introduce basic philosophical concepts of yoga and meditation, and offer handouts for practice outside of class.

Basics

These classes are for newcomers to yoga. Students gain strength and improve flexibility, balance and coordination while learning the basic shape and alignment of postures with and without modifications to suit individual needs.

Series: The Yamas and Niyamas

In these 6-week series, we explore the first and second limbs of yoga. The Yamas (the first limb) are ethical practices related to ourselves and our interactions with the world. The Niyamas (the second limb of yoga) are personal practices that relate to our inner world. Like the other limbs of yoga, these practices support the goal and the process of calming the mind. T

Series: Yoga for Kids!

In these 6-week series, kids have fun learning basic postures that improve balance, flexibility and strength. They experiment with calming breath exercises, meditation, silence and other practice of gratitude and joy. When space is available, parents are welcome to participate or enjoy a meal or service in one of the nearby shops. Sibling discounts available. Let us know if you are interested in Yoga for Kids!

Supported Yoga

These classes are for people experiencing physical challenges or limited mobility. We use the wall, chairs, blocks and straps for safe beneficial practice. Most of this practice is seated.

Level I

These classes are great for newcomers and students with some experience. Level I classes focus on foundational postures with emphasis on alignment, building strength, stamina, breath awareness, balance and flexibility. Students practice standing poses, back-bends, twists and balancing poses These classes can be physically challenging, but the pace of postures is metered.

Level 2

These classes are for students with yoga experience. Students practice foundational poses and the building blocks for more advanced poses. Attention remains on alignment with resulting strength, stamina, breath awareness and flexibility. Foundational postures are refined and intermediate postures (such as headstand, arm balances, shoulder stand and back-bends) are introduced.

Hatha Flow

In these mixed-level classes, postures linked together by movement and breath. Students coming to these classes should have a foundational understanding of the alignment and basic shape of postures and be able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease. For experienced students, flow may be modified with use of a chair (to avoid coming down and up off the floor).
